We have shared before, about projects our Social Media ‘friend’, Barb Marshall, has taken on… She shares her passion for Happy Mail on her RiteWhileUCan Blog.
She also has a project to spread Christmas Cheer… We just can’t say enough about the MakeItMerry Project – which works to send Holiday Cards to the homeless!
Here is her latest update:
One week today and it’s the big day! How is your list going? I made some Christmas cookies this weekend, got the gifts organized and hope to start a wee bit of wrapping tonight as I watch “Love Actually.”
But first, this afternoon, I will be sorting and reading (with the help of friends) some of the hundreds of Christmas cards for one of the homeless shelters as MakeItMerry makes a delivery tomorrow.
I thought you might be interested to see how progress is going so that is what is on the blog today:
Have a lovely Sunday,
We hope Barb’s passion for sharing Cards and Joy, inspires you to share a little “paper love” during this Holiday Season!

Haute Note is excited to participate in the “Make It Merry” Project, started by Barb Marshall from RiteWhileUCan.
We are pleased to be supporting Barb and the Make It Merry Team by providing some blank Christmas HauteNotes for card-writing events, as well as sending 10 handwritten messages of our own!
Please join us, and help Make It Merry!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Proceeds from our ‘Awareness’ Breast Cancer Ribbon card benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – EVERY month of the year.
Hopefully, neither you, nor anyone you know, will be stricken by this disease.
Sadly, the statistics are scary.
According to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation:
- One in Nine Canadian women is expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime.
- One in Four (26%) cancers diagnosed in women in Canada are breast cancer.
- One in Thirty women in Canada will die from breast cancer.
Together, we can help work towards finding better diagnoses, more effective treatments and a hopefully one day… a cure.
I don’t think it can be overstated…

Today is #PinkShirtDay – A reminder to speak out about bullying… both online and in real life.
We have all seen news stories go viral… and many of them cause feelings of anger, fear or dismay… which make them hard NOT to react to.
We use this day as a reminder to ourselves, to be mindful and respectful, and not just “pile on”, when an individual or company seems to cross a line. I think all of us have caught ourselves trying to say something, that can be misconstrued or mis-interpreted. Especially on Social Media, where brevity and conciseness are often dictated.
The shirt really says it all: “Kindness is one size fits all“.
So #PinkItForward on #PinkShirtDay!
